From his groundbreaking work with Guns N’ Roses, to Slash’s Snakepit, to Velvet Revolver and numerous acclaimed solo and side projects, Slash has continued to embody the ultimate rebel rocker, putting addictive licks and eviscerating tone above all else, and throughout he has continued to do it on his Gibson or Epiphone Les Paul guitar. To honor this achievement, Gibson USA is pleased to introduce the Slash Appetite Les Paul. This guitar is equipped with the finest features associated with a Gibson Les Paul, and the added punch of Seymour Duncan Signature Series Alnico II Pro Slash humbucking pickups. With looks to kill from a Grade AAA figured maple top with nitrocellulose “Appetite Amber” finish, “Gold” volume and tone top hat knobs, rosewood fingerboard with traditional trapezoid inlays, specially requested Orange Drop capacitors, a Slash headstock graphic, and enhanced resonance from a TonePros Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece at one end and a high-density Corian nut at the other, the Slash Appetite Les Paul is as prime a piece of eye candy as it is ear candy.
Playability on the Slash Appetite Les Paul, naturally, is flawless, thanks to a solid one-piece Grade A quarter-sawn mahogany neck with Slash’s preferred slim ’60s profile, and the 12″ fingerboard radius and 22 jumbo frets that have made Les Pauls notorious for big, meaty rock bends for more the past 50 years. All Slash Appetite Les Pauls come with plush-lined hardshell case with silkscreened Slash graphic and Owner’s Manual. MSRP: $4,728 USD
Bursting onto a scene with poodle hairdos, spandex pants, and pointy headstocks, Slash and Guns N’ Roses saved rock in the mid ’80s by bringing back the grease, leather, attitude, and some seriously heavy guitar chops. Their 1987 release Appetite for Destruction became the biggest-selling debut album of all time, with 28 million and counting sold worldwide, and the big riffs of “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Paradise City,” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” fired up the airwaves across the globe-riffs fueled by the most powerful rock tool of all time: a Les Paul.
Recently, Slash revealed the complete all-star lineup of guest artists featured on his forthcoming solo album. The self-titled disc, scheduled for release in April, will feature Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmeister, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother.
“The idea was really simple in the beginning,” said Slash. “These are all artists I wanted to work with – that I thought it would be amazing to do something creative and collaborative. And I was so impressed with what everyone brought to the table. They were all so committed to doing a good job. And we had a lot of fun making these songs.”
“Slash” track listing 1. Ghost (Ian Astbury) 2. Beautiful Dangerous (Fergie) 3. Nothing To Say (M Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold) 4. Crucify The Dead (Ozzy Osbourne) 5. Promise (Chris Cornell) 6.
