BENSALEM, PA: Have already extended the range of its best selling X-shaped Xiphos electric guitar down into the nether regions with a seven-string version, Ibanez is now offering metal guitarists some extra notes in the other direction. “The new 6-string XPT700XH is fitted with a 27-fret neck to allow guitarists to hit that high G,” commented Mac Muranaka of Ibanez. “And to make sure their audiences hear the extended range, the XPT700XH features a DiMarzio Air Norton-S with just the right neck/body placement as well as a DiMarzio D Activator bridge pickup.”

The XPT700XH features a fast-playing 5pc Wizard II thru-neck, mahogany body and Edge III double-locking tremolo system. The list price is $1199.99. For 2009, all Ibanez Xiphos models receive an upgraded shape for an even more standout appearance.
