Steel Panther, the Los Angeles based heavy metal band announced they will host the official invitation-only Gibson Guitar launch of Dark Fire, the most remarkable guitar to be produced in over 50 years on Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Gibson Guitar Entertainment Relations Showroom at 9350 Civic Center Drive in Beverly Hills, California from 7:00-10:30pm. Steel Panther, best known for their energetic live show and for having the longest running metal show on the Sunset Strip will take to the stage to perform with Gibson’s limited edition Dark Fire which is poised to change the music industry overnight. Steel Panther is known for their raucous stage shows, outrageous style, seismic guitar riffs, catchy melodies, catchier afflictions and indiscriminate taste in trollops and intoxicants. The band is made up of frontman Michael Starr, lead guitarist Satchel, bassist Lexxi Foxxx and drummer Stix Zindinia. Tito’s Vodka and Monster Energy Drink are the official beverage sponsors of the event. Canon, Intel and Blue Microphones are official event sponsors.

The Steel Panther performance will kick off the premiere of the official Dancing Dark Fire Virtual E-Card where guests and fans alike can create their own personality in various Dark Fire rock-n-roll characters. Guests can send their own customized Dark Fire e-card from the live event by uploading their face onto one of the customized rocker “bodies” created. Once they have selected their Dark Fire likeness they can also select a custom rock song to jam with and forward it to friends and family members at no cost. Canon, Intel and Blue Microphone will be providing the technology for the E-card characters.

Members of Steel Panther will arrive with one very special Dark Fire guitar, so special that it will be handcuffed to the band’s head of security. Once inside the Gibson Guitar Entertainment Relations Showroom, Dark Fire will take center stage where its unprecedented technology will be used by lead guitarist Satchel. The world’s first run limited edition Gibson Dark Fire guitar will go on sale December 15th at 5pm with only 2,000 worldwide available. The highly collectible guitar has an exceptional look, outstanding playability with 2nd generation Robot technology allowing automatic tuning, chameleon tone technology, a master control knob which incorporates a sophisticated full matrix display and redesigned power head tuners. You can access any preset tuning in less than one second so you can change tunings in the middle of a song. For more information on Dark Fire click here.
